What does the $95 service call pay for?
The visit and a full diagnosis — the readings, the fault, and what putting it right involves. Approve the repair and the $95 comes off the total instead of being added to it.
A burner clicks but will not light. Is that a call?
Not always. Spark reaching the electrode means the module and the switch are alive, so the usual culprits are a cap sitting a fraction off its seat, a port ring blocked after a boil-over, or a wet igniter. Seat the cap square, dry everything, and try again. If every burner clicks at once, or you can smell gas with nothing lit, stop and call.
How do you tell a control board fault from a sensor fault?
By measuring rather than swapping. An oven sensor has a known resistance cold and a predictable one hot; if it reads true and the cavity still misses its set point, the fault has moved upstream to the relay or the board. Boards are the expensive answer, so they are the last one.
Do you take the appliance away?
No. Everything is done in the kitchen where it stands. A range may be pulled forward to reach the back panel, and it goes back on its feet and level before anyone leaves.
Which parts go in?
Factory-approved parts where the platform still has them, and components from the original makers where it does not. Either way the part is named on the estimate before it is fitted.
