Written after the call.
Notes on Viking faults, kept because the same four or five keep coming back. If one of these saves you a visit, that is a good outcome.
- Viking Dishwasher Will Not Empty in Lexington — Pump, Hose or Air Gap? Standing water at the end of a cycle means either the drain step ran and achieved nothing or it never ran at all, and the pump noise tells you which. Clear the filter and sump first, then the high loop, the air gap and a disposer knockout left in place.
- Viking Oven Still Locked Hours Later in Lexington — Latch, Fuse or Sensor? The door stays locked until the control reads the cavity below its threshold, which is long after the heat stops — so waiting is usually the answer. A dark display or a breaker that keeps tripping is a power fault instead, and it is why cycle timing matters.
- Viking Ignition Faults in Lexington: Spark, Gas or Something Wet A Viking burner that will not light and one that burns orange, lazy or lifting are often the same fault: the mixture of air and gas at the port is wrong. Work through cap seating, port obstruction and the electrode before assuming an ignition component has failed.
